EMDG first instalments increased to $50,000

The Government has increased the ceiling for EMDG first instalment payments to $50,000 for 2010-11 grant year claims, effective from 1 July 2011. 

This means that applicants with an entitlement up to and including $50,000 for the 2010-11 grant year will be paid in full.  Applicants with entitlements over $50,000 will receive a second tranche payment at the end of June 2012.  The size of the second tranche will be determined closer to the payment date.

The first instalment payment ceiling for 2009-10 grants was $27,500, with the increase this year being attributed to reduced demand for grants and changes to the scheme.  Further information about the EMDG scheme is available on our website by clicking here including a summary of the changes.
